Image generation

Pick from OpenAI’s gpt-image models, Unsplash, Imagine.art, or MonsterAPI. Compare cost, quality, and licensing.

Choose your image provider

Set the provider in MrNiche Autoblogger Pro → API Settings → Image Generation API. Each article gets one featured image; in-body images are optional and can be configured per provider.

ProviderCost / imageQualityBest for
OpenAI gpt-image~$0.02 (mini) / ~$0.07 (gpt-image-1) / ~$0.10 (gpt-image-2)★★★★★Custom illustrations, on-brand visuals

Imagine.art~$0.005★★★★Volume content, anime/illustrated styles
MonsterAPI~$0.003★★★★Volume + photorealism, lowest per-image cost

OpenAI image setup (gpt-image)

Uses your existing OpenAI API key. No extra setup — just select OpenAI as the provider and pick a model on the API page: gpt-image-1-mini (~$0.02/image, great for volume), gpt-image-1 (~$0.07, the quality default), or gpt-image-2 (~$0.10, sharpest detail). Widescreen 1536×1024 looks great as a featured image and is the landscape maximum. (OpenAI retired the older DALL·E models in May 2026 — gpt-image is the replacement family.)

Unsplash setup

Free, but requires an API key. Sign up at unsplash.com/developers, create an Application, copy the Access Key, paste into MrNiche Autoblogger’s Unsplash field. Unsplash returns the closest-matching real photo to the article’s keywords. Photos are CC0 — credit not required, but the plugin auto-attributes anyway (recommended for good karma).

Imagine.art setup

Sign up at imagine.art, generate an API token from your dashboard, paste it in. Pick a style preset (e.g. photorealistic, anime, 3d) — that becomes the default style for every generated image.

MonsterAPI setup

Cheapest paid provider. Sign up at monsterapi.ai, create an API key, paste it into MrNiche Autoblogger. SDXL-based — best for photorealism and product shots. Generation can take 8–15 seconds (longer than OpenAI’s gpt-image), so AutoPilot job times will be slightly higher.

Featured image vs in-body images

Every article gets a featured image automatically. In-body images (one between major sections) can be enabled in API Settings → Generation → In-body images. They roughly double image cost but significantly improve dwell time and visual scannability.

💡 Mix providers for cost. Use Unsplash or gpt-image-1-mini for high-volume blogs, gpt-image-1 for flagship pieces. Switch between articles by manually overriding the provider in the Manual Generation form.
